The development of businesses focused on creating pragmatic sustainable solutions traces back to the establishment of Carbon South in 2008, which provided carbon emission auditing services for small businesses.

A worldwide search of commercial electric mowers in 2016, identified Mean Green Electric Mowers as the only viable company that was manufacturing mowers capable of handling tough commercial conditions.

Our first mowers hit the New Zealand market at the beginning of 2017. Many loyal clients took the leap in faith and introduced machines into their mowing fleets. The market has developed as we have become experts in the electric mowing field, and the company was awarded a tender to supply the Christchurch City Council with 20 machines in 2024 - in fact, most of the small-to-medium sized parks in Christchurch are now mowed electrically.

Electric Mower Market (EMM) was created in 2024 as the branding parent for all brands that the company now offers. As the electric mower market has developed, different client sectors require different choices in machines so we are aiming to satisfy as much demand as possible in this industry class.

The sector is exciting as it is developing quickly with more automation coming on line, so we view the future as bright and rewarding.
